Lumagen Radiance Mini3D

The Mini3D is Lumagen's most affordable video processor in the Radiance line of processors. It offers all of the power of the more expensive units, but comes in a much smaller case at a much lower price and with only two HDMI inputs.

Select the Mini3D when space and budget are limited. It's firmware is user-upgradable, and new firmware is released regularly.

It is designed from the ground up as an user-friendly adjunct to a quality home theater installation. It offers the following:

  • 2 HDMI inputs
  • 3D Output
  • world-class scaling and deinterlacing for standard and high definition sources
  • noise reduction
  • detail enhancement
  • aspect ratio control
  • the ability to save and export multiple configurations, each with its own calibration settings
  • selectable output format, including up to 1080p
  • remote control with on-screen display

With all of these features, the Radiance Mini3D provides much of what you get from a high-end home theater receiver without the amplification digital sound decoding. However, what makes the Mini3D truly special is the full set of video calibration controls it also offers. These include

  • Comprehensive set of video test patterns all automatically controlled by ChromaPure—just click measure in ChromaPure and the Mini3D will automatically provide the necessary test pattern.
  • Grayscale/gamma adjustmentin 5% and 10% increments
  • Full 3D color management, offering adjustments to the brightness, hue, and saturation of all of the primary and secondary colors.
  • Use the Mini3D as the center of a total auto-calibration solution.

So how is the Mini3D different from the Duo? Well, in many ways not very different at all. They both provide world-class video processing and calibration controls. There are three main differences.

  • The Mini3D is more powerful. It offers more test patterns and can output true 3D signals, so it is ideal for calibrating displays in 3D mode.
  • It provides a true 3D 125-point color calibration tool tightly integrated into ChromaPure's Advanced Auto-calibrate technology. This allows you to calibrate throughout the color space, rather than simply on the gamut border.
  • Finally, it offers only two digital HDMI inputs, so installations are somewhat less flexible. For more installation options, you should consider the Lumagen 2021 instead.

Summary

The Lumagen video processors provide world-class video processing, test pattern generation, and comprehensive calibration controls.
